Estranged couple ordered by court to retain a psychologist with experience in transgender issues.
The story refers to the parents by their initials, and to the father using female pronouns. Which obscures what’s going on. I’ve replaced the initials with Father and Mother, and substituted pronouns that accurately sex the dad.
The girls this dickwad of a dad is trying to force into being constantly subjected to court-ordered and state-sanctioned gaslighting are six, nine and 12.
To me, making such a preposterous request in the first place should be taken as evidence that this guy is a totally unfit parent who should only have access to his daughters in a supervised setting.
The quoted parts come from a ruling by B.C. Supreme Court Justice Paul Walker. Yes, that’s the same B.C. that’s known in some circles as Yaniv-Ogerland.
“Father wishes to be referred to in the female gender post-transition and points to an interim order issued to that effect… Insofar as the children are concerned and Mother’s discussions with them, Father wishes to be referred to as ‘Momma’.”
Moreover, Father wishes to be referred to in the female gender in her pre-transition life “on the basis that it has always been his gender but he was born with a defect”.
“However, Father made it clear that he is not rigid in his approach…For example, if the children ask questions about Father prior to the transition and refer to him in the male gender or as ‘Dad’ or ‘Daddy’, Father does not object to Mother using those words so long as she directs the children to refer to Father in the female gender.”
The girls’ mother has a different position.
Mother’s position is that she does not wish to be told how to refer to her ex-husband and the Father of their children. Mother does not agree to refer to Father as ‘Momma’ when speaking with the children because she says the reference is ‘juvenile’. At the same time, she does not dissuade the children from referring to her own self as ‘Mommy’.”
Also, Mother is “not prepared to be told how to refer to Father and Ex-Husband pre-transition”.
The judge in his decision shirked dealing with the issues at hand by ordering the couple
to retain a psychologist with experience in transgender issues to prepare recommendations to the court on a number of issues, like the appropriate parenting arrangement. The psychologist will also render an opinion about how Father will be referred to.
