The local media received leak documents stating that the city of Vancouver, The Vancouver Police Department and city cleanup crews would descend onto East Hastings Street on the downtown East Side. In this video I caught wind about it an hour into the operation. No one knew what day it was going to go down we just knew it would happen sometime this week.
I documented as much as I could from the police closure of Hastings Street, to the city of Vancouver clean up crews removing tents and debris. I also documented the scuffles that broke out between Vancouver Police, homeless people and homeless advocates.
