Elaborate frauds known as carousel schemes are using fake business transactions to reap fraudulent tax refunds from the Canada Revenue Agency, costing Canadian taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.
CBC’s The Fifth Estate and Radio-Canada’s Enquête teamed up to search for the missing money.
Habitual Con, err… I mean Habib Khan: “Carousel Tax Fraud” in Canada.
How Pakistan, most of the Stan’s in fact, India, the UAE / Middle East have been receiving Sales / GST / VAT tax rebates from the UK, Germany, The Netherlands, and now we come to find in Canada as well, fraudulently.
We know where the head of the snake is.
In this Canadian expose on “Carousel Tax Fraud” CBC’s The Fifth Estate knocks on the right doors, asks the right questions, and follows the right leads, chasing the facts down both in Canada, and over seas. I do hope to see a follow up of this.
If per chance you read this @thefithestate and or CRA the resell / brokering of long distance minutes and bandwidth from various carriers in a round robin, or as you say “Carousel” for those in the know pale in comparison to other like, and differing sectors.
In closing I leave you with this thought, if you want to see them run (Criminals and CRA alike) find out about the existing regulations ( or lack thereof) of carbon credits (it is a taxable thing a species of “money”) and how they are traded, who trades them, and where is the “clearing house/s”?
A segment or two on that sounds like “money” to me. Please if you do so endeavour to investigate and film this, I would very much like you to contact me.
Who wouldn’t want to see you guys investigate the green economy’s dark side, one of them being the carbon credit schemes.
The Fifth Estate I think could well do without the CBC, and I hope the people there know it.
