Nova Scotia church service raided by police, 26 fines issued

RCMP showed up at a Weston NS location on Sunday at around 11am to hand out fines after hearing about an illegal church service being held in violation of the lockdown rules.

According toĀ Global News,Ā Cpl. Chris Marshall of the local RCPM said that officers arriving at the scene of the crime found the church service in progress.
“Twenty-six people were charged in the event, as a result of the gathering, and then the organization itself that was hosting the gathering was also charged. Basically, anybody that was over the age of 16 was issued a fine. There were some children and things there, but the children werenā€™t issued fines,” stated Marshall.
The province of NS is currently under another two-week complete lockdown, where any type of religious service has been banned. In fact,Ā NS’s lockdown is among the strictest in the whole worldĀ as of this writing.
“Right now the variant [of COVID] is winning,” said NS Premier Iain Rankin, commenting on the new “surge” of the virus in the province.
NS remains one of the provinces in Canada withĀ the least amount of cases and deaths, by a huge margin.https://youtu.be/pnn3FPr6sNU
