NSFW Month Fact: The ‘Parental Advisory Label’ was first introduced by the Recording Industry of America (RIAA) in 1985. Many artists still say the label is a form of artistic censorship. Parental groups in particular find it a helpful tool.
The made for TV movie about the PMRC tried to Censor Music in the mid-80’s but, all that tey got was a standard warning label. The same warning lable is seen on CD’s today and reades Warning: Parental Advisory.
