Apple CEO Tim Cook says President Trump should be held accountable: “I don’t think we should let it go.”

Tim Cook is the CEO of Apple, the world’s richest company.

In the last week, Big Tech CEOs have weighed in on the political landscape and the companies they run have resorted to further mass censorship. Apple CEO Tim Cook is no different and has today made his thoughts known.

Everyone responsible for the protests at the US Capitol on January 6 should be held accountable, according to Apple CEO Tim Cook. Cook includes the President in that group of people.

Though the storming of the Capitol building was largely organized on Facebook,Ā according to several reports, Apple responded to media pressure to removeĀ free speech social network Parler from the App Store.

In an interview onĀ CBS This Morning, Cook was asked about the protests. He said:

ā€œI think itā€™s key that people be held accountable for it. This is not something that should skate. This is something that weā€™ve got to be very serious about and understand. And then we need to move forward.ā€

Cook was also asked if President Trump should be held accountable for his role. He avoided mentioning Trump and reiterated that everyone involved should be held responsible.

ā€œI think no one is above the law,ā€ Cook said. ā€œI mean, thatā€™s a great thing about our country, and weā€™re a rule of law country. I think everyone that had a part in it needs to be held accountable.ā€

ā€œI donā€™t think we should let it go,ā€ Cook added.
