Doug Ford placed second, Olivia Chow placed third

ohn Tory is the new mayor of Toronto.

Tory defeated Doug Ford in tonightā€™s vote to become mayor-elect. Olivia Chow came in third.

Ford joined the mayorā€™s race when his brother, Rob, gave up his bid for re-election after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.

Tory will be sworn in on December 1st.

Itā€™s not over for Rob Ford, who has been elected as a city councillor in his west-end ward.
