Virginiansā Succumbing To Tyranny? : The Governor Declares State Of Emergency!
While everyone was watching the gun bills, the Virginia governor snuck through these communist bills:
SB 399 – Virginia’s electoral college votes to be awarded to the winner of the national popular vote.
SJ 29 – The governor to be elected by majority of votes in congressional districts, not by statewide majority.
sj 14 – Restores voting rights to convicted felons
SJ 8 – Allows Felons and those declared mentally incompetent to vote
SB 65 – Eliminates photo ID requirements for voting
SJ 6 – Increases the term limit of the governor from 4 to 8 years.
When Democrats took the majority in Virginia the last election, they quickly put on the table a package of radical laws that were set to limit Virginiansā Second Amendment rights, includingĀ closing down every shooting rangeĀ not owned by the government, hindering their ability to form militias, severely limiting gun sale transfers, as well as fresh registration bills.
Within the first 48 hours of taking over the Virginia legislature in 2020,Ā Democrats passedĀ their first of many proposed gun laws and banned the carry of firearms on the property of the state capitol and other government offices.
Virginia decided then that they wouldnāt wait for another election. A petition to remove Governor Northam began circulating as well as other petitions to remove delegates from office. When the petition received almost a third of the signatures needed to recall the governor,Ā a new bill was introducedĀ to raise the amount of signatures needed from 10% of the prevailing vote, to 25%.
Oh, but it doesnāt stop there! Other bills in session in the 2020 legislature:
- SJ 6Ā ā Which changes the governorās term from 4 to 8 years.
- SB 399Ā ā Virginiaās electoral votes for president will go to the candidate who has won the national popular vote. It will no longer matter who many Virginians vote for in presidential races.
- SJ 9Ā andĀ SJ 14Ā ā Restores felonsā abilities to vote.
- SJ 29Ā ā Changes how Governors, Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General are elected. Previously, the candidate receiving the most votes statewide would be elected. Proposed: change to who wins the majority in Congressional districts. In case of a tie, the General Assembly will pick the winner.
