KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) –
Police said they are thanking their social media followers for helping them arrest a man who was distributing large amounts of homemade and commercial fireworks in the Kansas City area.
James E. Dunlap, 30, faces a Class C felony of an unlawful sale of a weapon. Prosecutors have requested a bond of $15,000.
He and his girlfriend live on the 1400 block of Collins Street in Kansas City, and that’s where police say they found explosives that could have leveled not just his home, but possibly others.
“It’s crazy. I heard it could have blown up half the street,” said neighbor Sarah Roberts. “We have all sorts of kids, this whole block is kids running around, so it could have ended bad.”

Police said Dunlap’s illegal activity came to light thanks to two of the department’s social media followers. One of the tipsters came across the Facebook page Man Cave Swap Shop KC. Some of the pictures show what appear to be homemade fireworks
