DAY OF ANGER PLANNED FOR NYC – 34,000 SO FAR PLAN ON ATTENDING #BlackLivesMatter

Once again, Facebook is being used to get the word out about a massive protest. This one is being called “Day Of Anger”, and already 34,000 people have said they are attending. Another 4 thousands said maybe. It will be held at Washington Square Park in Manhattan, this coming Saturday, December 13, at 2:00PM.

Below is a post taken from the Facebook page:

First of all, we would like to emphasize that the march we’re organizing in New York City on that day is supposed to be a disruptive, but PEACEFUL and NON-VIOLENT march. Just like the marches of the last 2 weeks, but even bigger and a little bit more structured.

Secondly, we DO have a lot to be righteously angry about. It’s open season on black people as they are being murdered in the streets by the police all over the country, with impunity. Parents of black kids are afraid to let them go out into the streets. And quite a lot of people in this supposedly colorblind and post-racial America, from those in power to the average white person in the street, still blatantly condone what is happening in these respects. Anger seems to us the most fitting, reasonable and constructive emotional response to this situation.

Something has to change and you don’t change it with wishy-washy feel-good feelings. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for unity and solidarity. I’ve been in the streets marching in the cold for hours on end the last couple of nights, together with angry blacks, whites, Asians, Jews, Latino’s, Native Americans and whatever else there is, protesting peacefully for justice and trying to make a change as a movement. As brother Malcolm said; “Usually when people are sad, they don’t do anything. They just cry over their condition. But when they get angry, they bring about a change.”

Let’s organize and bring about some change, dear people. ‪#‎BlackLivesMatter‬ ‪#‎DayofAnger‬ ‪#‎MillionsMarchNYC‬
