EXPLAINED: Doug Ford's Bill 218 would throw out COVID-19 lawsuits against Ontario government - Rebel News

Includes a clip of MPP Randy Hillier denouncing the BillĀ in the Ontario Parliament.

Here’s some of what Ezra had to say:

ā€œIf I understand it correctly, you cannot sue the government for anything they’ve done.

ā€œNow why would you do that? Did they do something wrong they don’t want us to know about? Did they screw up in the seniors’ homes like Governor Cuomo in New York State did, sending all the sick COVID patients to the seniors homes to kill thousands and thousands? Did Doug Ford do that? And if he did, can you sue?

ā€œYou can’t sue.

ā€œAnd one of the side effects of a lawsuit is what’s called ā€˜disclosureā€™. If you use the government about something they did wrong, you have the right to their records that touch on the matters at hand. So sometimes suing a government or other entity is the best way to learn about the government, or that entity.ā€
