The Indiegogo campaign to push the idea of getting fast food in church is arguing churces need to be able to support themselves financially, and see the fast food giant as the answer to their prayers.
“We need to solve this problem soon or church communities as we know them will cease to exist. It’s time for churches to engage with entrepreneurship. The McMass Project is helping churches keep pace in the modern world. We can solve all of these problems and become more present in culture by establishing McDonald’s franchises in churches!” the Indiegogo page reads.
They’re trying to raise $1,000,000 goal. Funds will go primarily towards purchasing a franchise, with twenty percent devoted to construction, and establishing the necessary infrastructure within and around the church, according to the page.
There’s no word where the McChurch would be built, as the group is still looking for a church to partner with, according to the LA Times.
