A new report in the Sun alleges that a PR rep for Archewell, the company of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, sent a missive to BBC correspondents on Monday warning them against relying on “old white men” to cover their bombshell interview with ulta-rich American celeb Oprah Winfrey.
The staffer apparently told employees at the national broadcaster that they should use a “broad range of contributors” to cover the interview, leading one insider at the corporation to declare: “This is the UK, not China.”
It follows in the wake of claims that Meghan herself complained to ITV about Piers Morgan’s comments on Good Morning Britain, which also saw 40,000 woke whingers cry to the regulator Ofcom and trigger an investigation.
He’d taken to Twitter on Monday morning to say the interview was “contemptible” and “an absolutely disgraceful betrayal of the Queen and the Royal Family”, amplifying his criticisms on the air later that morning.
Morgan subsequently walked out of his role as host of the breakfast show, after sticking to his guns and refusing to grovel to the woke mob.
The BBC itself has refused to be drawn into confirming the report, saying that they “would never confirm whether the representatives of anyone had been in touch” before celebrating the “broad range of voices on our output”.
But one insider hit out in a comment to the Sun, saying: “The BBC by its very nature has to be impartial at all times. So to be told how to conduct their coverage of a major news event by a PR person acting on behalf of Harry and Meghan is a bit strange to say the least.
“This is the UK, not China. You can’t tell the BBC how to conduct its journalism, which frankly, was more than fair and balanced.”
