After Special Counsel Robert Mueller protested on Wednesday that he wasn’t familiar with Fusion GPS, which is largely credited with producing the dossier that prompted the entire Russia investigation for which Mueller was hired, Donald Trump Jr. fired off a blistering series of tweets ripping Mueller for his claim, including “2 years and almost $50,000,000 & and he doesn’t have a clue to how it started? GTFO.”
Trump Jr. launched his fusillade after Sean Davis of The Federalist noted, “Mueller was asked if Fusion GPS was the Steele dossier-producing firm referenced in Mueller’s report (it is). Mueller says he has no idea who that is. Mueller was asked if he knows who Glenn Simpson is. Also clueless. Then says facts in his report are ‘outside his purview.'”

Trump Jr. fired off, “How can anyone credibly say they investigated something without looking at any of the origins of the entire thing… it’s dumbfounding. 2 years and almost $50,000,000 & and he doesn’t have a clue to how it started? GTFO.”

He added, “Does anyone honestly believe that after two years and $50 million Robert Mueller does not know anything about fusion GPS given that it was the genesis of the entire investigation? Has he not opened a paper, even a leftist, one or watched TV in that time? Tough to believe.”

Trump Jr. had a hilarious response after Sean Davis noted, “I’m not sure anyone could have done more to discredit Mueller’s report and investigation than Mueller is doing right now. He can’t answer simple questions about his own investigation, fumbles answers about his own report, and seems utterly befuddled by what’s happening.”
Trump Jr. noted succinctly, “Maybe he really is a Republican?”

After Rep. Mark Meadows noted that Rep. Jim Jordan had asked Mueller why Joseph Misfud, a key DOJ witness who had helped precipitate the collusion conspiracy idea, lied three times but wasn’t charged although Mueller had charged people connected to Trump with lying, Trump Jr. tweeted, “He apparently lied three times to the investigators and he wasn’t charged??? WTF? You think anyone on the campaign would get that same privilege?”

Back in March, when Trump Jr. was interviewed by Fox News’ Howard Kurtz on “Media Buzz,” he was asked whether he thought Mueller’s investigation wanted to find President Donald Trump guilty of crimes. He responded, “I think so because they didn’t find anything, but the reality is there was nothing there to find. Now I don’t believe for one second that there’s not one person on that team whose dream it would not have been to take down Donald Trump — I stand by that 100 percent.”
Trump Jr. also blasted the media for their coverage, stating, “They lied to the American public for two years. They did a terrible disservice to this country, to journalism as a profession. I think they’ve done irreparable damage to the faith that the average American is going to have in terms of mainstream journalism. I think it’s a blight on our republic on democracy and on our Constitution — that’s not going to come undone very quickly.”
