Mystery of Navy Admiral’s ‘suicide’ death deepens: No details are released on how or when decorated veteran, 58, died as remarks he made three months ago criticizing Iran are revealed

- The decorated Navy admiral was in charge of the Fifth Fleet in the Middle East
- He assumed the role in May, taking charge of 20,000 troops in the Persian Gulf, Red Sea and Arabian Sea
- In September, he spoke optimistically about operations and exercises in the region
- He also criticized Iran for ‘destabilizing’ the fragile region
- The Navy will not say how he died or how he was found but that no foul play is suspected
- The Naval Criminal Investigative Service is still investigating his death along with the Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior
- Stearney served in the Navy for 36 years and served in Afghanistan
