Saudi Arabia, allies lash Iran in emergency Arab League meeting

Saudi Arabia on Sunday called an emergency meeting of the Arab League in Cairo to discuss what it calls Iran’s “violations” in the region.

Foreign ministers lashed out at both Iran and its ally Hezbollah, which Saudi Arabia accuses of helping to launch a missile from Yemen aimed at Riyadh.

The Arab League also announced that they may approach the UN Security Council over Iran’s alleged violations.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that Saudi Arabia destabilizes the region as it continues to create crises in some regional states.

“Saudi Arabia accuses Iran of destabilization, while itself fuels terrorists, wages war on Yemen, blockades Qatar and foments crisis in Lebanon,” Zarif posted on Twitter on Sunday.
