Anechoic chamber in Krakow (Poland)
A large anechoic chamber in Krakow is part of the Laboratory of Acoustics Technology.
This is a special room in which you can find conditions of the free field by using special items on the walls with diffuse-absorbing properties.
Chamber mass is estimated at 600 tons, and the same “cube” is set on vibration isolation supported on the 100 springs, which limit the transmission of vibrations from a nearby road.
Background sound pressure level, measured in the chamber during the day is about 1.5 dBA (night time falls even below 0 dB).
Inside the chamber is mounted keypad prototype to measure the sound power level whose capabilities have been extended to the measurement of directivity and dispersion.
