Toronto – What you need to know about voting Monday

TORONTOĀ –Ā Hereā€™s what you need to know about voting Monday October 27th 2014:

 

  • The cityā€™s 1,679 voting places will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday.
  • Check your voter card or go totoronto.ca/elections/myvote to find out where to vote.
  • According to the city, you can vote in Torontoā€™s municipal election if you are a Canadian citizen, at least 18 and a resident of Toronto. If you arenā€™t a resident of Toronto, you can still vote if you or your spouse own or rent property in the city.

 

  • City officials say electors need to bring their voter identification card and identification showing their name and qualifying Toronto address.

 

  • Donā€™t have a voting card? According to the city, ā€œany electors who did not receive a card, or who are not on the votersā€™ list, can be added to the list at the voting place.ā€ Again, be sure to bring identification.
