Toronto – What you need to know about voting Monday

TORONTO – Here’s what you need to know about voting Monday October 27th 2014:

  • The city’s 1,679 voting places will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday.
  • Check your voter card or go totoronto.ca/elections/myvote to find out where to vote.
  • According to the city, you can vote in Toronto’s municipal election if you are a Canadian citizen, at least 18 and a resident of Toronto. If you aren’t a resident of Toronto, you can still vote if you or your spouse own or rent property in the city.

  • City officials say electors need to bring their voter identification card and identification showing their name and qualifying Toronto address.

  • Don’t have a voting card? According to the city, “any electors who did not receive a card, or who are not on the voters’ list, can be added to the list at the voting place.” Again, be sure to bring identification.
