Appeal will be considered over 90 days with thousands of public comments already submitted
Donald TrumpĀ has appealed directly toĀ Facebookās Oversight Board to allow him to rejoin the platform, according to a report byĀ Channel 4 News.
The board, a group of 20 experts from around the world, is reviewing the companyās decision to permanently suspend the former US presidentās account.
āItās a very high profile case,ā she said, ābut that is exactly why the Oversight Board was created in the first place.ā
The board was set up to hear appeals from users about content they felt had been unfairly taken down – as well as cases referred by Facebook itself.

A spokesperson confirmed toĀ InsiderĀ that the appeal covers both Mr Trumpās Facebook andĀ InstagramĀ accounts.
