Vancouver’s first provincially-approved pot shop is opening this weekend.

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) ā€“ Vancouverā€™s first legal brick and mortar pot shop is opening its doors on Saturday.

Evergreen Cannabis Society in Kitsilano applied for a license in August and got the greenlight on Christmas Eve. It was supposed to open last weekend, but paperwork didnā€™t get processed in time.

The store initially opened in 2015 as a medical marijuana dispensary. It stopped selling weed following legalization in October, in order to increase its chance of getting a license. It will now re-open as a legal, recreational dispensary.
