Minors seeking gender-affirming treatment can shelter without parent’s knowledge if bill passes
The state House of Representatives approved a bill protecting minors from being reported when seeking gender-affirming care and not wanting their parents to know about it. (Photo credit should read Marco Ravagli/Future Publishing via Getty Images) “State Senate Bill 5599 allows for kids who want to transition genders to runaway and be taken in by a center/agency. After the child is taken in, the center/agency can withhold that childs whereabouts from their parents. They can do all of this while the child is seeking medical assistance in transitioning and their are programs out there that will help them get surgery/drugs for free.
Washington State is pretty much split right down the middle physically and lots of sane people move away from the west side of the state to Eastern WA. I think after a few kids get taken away from their parents the shooting and calls for splitting the state will start in earnest.
With this law in place, how hard would it be for random people to call the state and just say “these parents over here at such and such address have a child they are not allowing to seek medical transition of their gender.” How hard will it be for bitter ex-wives/husbands/aunts/grandparents to call the state and get kids ripped out of homes. Predators will convince young people to run away and seek help and this safe home or that, so they can have easier access to them. This law is going to create a mess. All it will take is for the wrong kid to be taken from a home and the fireworks will commence.”
