The World Health Organization formally rejected Medicago’s COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use, citing tobacco giant Philip Morris’ minority stake in the company. Experts say the problem isn’t about the safety or efficacy of the vaccine, but allowing a tobacco company to profit from it.
