The problem with Canadian politics is precisely what you see in front of you. It becomes a performance art for actors like Trudeau, whereby deflecting questions, issuing almost exclusively sound-bite ad hominem, and exercising surreal mental gymnastics, become the primary objectives. It’s better than some forms of governance, but it certainly has its issues. Pierre understands this, which is why you see him so elegantly revealing all of that with this technique here. We need to somehow implement higher standards for speaking truthfully and answering specifically, otherwise this soap opera is what is going to continue to reign.
